About me:
I am a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Accredited and Registered Integrative Therapist with a strong person-centred influence; Dr Carl Rogers.
I qualified as a therapist in 2000 and I have trained as an ILM Coach, an Emotional Freedom Techniques practitioner (EFT) and hold a certificate in Play Therapy. I previously worked as a Human Resources professional
and was a Chartered member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
My private practice is based in Enfield and I work in two Hertfordshire schools. I have the privilege to work with adults and young people providing both long term and short term therapy, coaching and non-clinical supervision.
I started work with the Hertfordshire Youth Service in 1991 where I moved from voluntary work to paid work in
youth clubs and detached street work; dealing with relationships, social and drug issues, supporting sexual health and school refuser projects. Those years formed a solid foundation, which has led to me Counselling adults and young people and developing a skill for employee relations; supporting others through Coaching.
I am proud to deliver a professional service to all the adults and young people I work with; whether that be as a Therapist, Coach or EFT practitioner.
Private Practice:
My private practice is in Enfield, EN1, where I work with adults and young people working through a range of issues including anxiety, pre and post bereavement, self-esteem, self-awareness, relationship and family issues, work related stress, anger management, bullying, abuse, self-harm, travel anxiety, Asperger’s, the Autistic spectrum and animal bereavement (this list is not exhaustive). I am on the health insurance Private Practice Registers (PPR) for BUPA, AXA Health, Aviva and Vitality Health.
School Counselling, Supervision and Coaching:
I work independently as a School Counsellor providing group and individual Non-Clinical Supervision, individual Counselling and Coaching for the members of staff and while offering a Counselling provision for the students. Both schools are designated as special schools (LD, ASD, SLCN & SEMH). I have been providing a counselling provision for pupils since 2001 and school staff since 2018.
Counselling:
Counselling provides an opportunity to talk to someone who will be non-judgemental and is outside of your family, circle of friends and work colleagues. Counselling provides a space for you to talk to someone and be truly heard. I provide a confidential and safe therapeutic space to enable clients to explore the issues that are important to them.
I have over 23 years’ experience of counselling adults, children and young people in private practice, schools and community settings.
I am insured to practice as a Counsellor and EFT practitioner and I work to the BACP code of ethics.
